Freyr is the god of fertility and belongs to the family of the Vanir (Snorri included him in his list of Æsir as well). He is the son of Njǫrðr and his sister. Frey is the brother of Freyja. His wife is the giantess Gerðr and they have a son named Fjǫlnir. He lives in Alfheimr.
